"Om" or "Aum" symbol actually has a very deep, significant, spiritual meaning that is very specific and yet, at the same time, so vague it's almost incomprehensible.

Om and Aum are the same thing; it's just written two different ways. Think of "Om" as the phonetic spelling and "Aum" as the actual spelling. The sound of "Aum" - the slow, calming chant many associate with the word, is the sound that was made when all of creation came into existence.
